Türkiye Political parties

There are many political parties in Turkey. While some of these parties are represented in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, some of them operate in local elections. Important political parties in Turkey are:

1. Justice and Development Party (AK Party): The party that was founded in 2001 and has been in power in Turkey since 2002. It has a centre-right ideology. It operates under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

2. Republican People's Party (CHP): Founded in 1923 and being Turkey's oldest political party, CHP has a centre-left ideology. It was founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first President of Turkey.

3. Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): Founded in 1969, MHP has a nationalist ideology. It focuses on Turkish nationalism and Turkish-Islamic synthesis. Recently, it has been managed by Devlet Bahçeli, the leader of the Nationalist-Idealist movement.

4. People's Democratic Party (HDP): Founded in 2012, HDP represents Kurdish political movements. He has a left-leaning ideology and works on the Kurdish issue, democracy and human rights.

5. İYİ Party: Founded by Meral Akşener in 2017, İYİ Party has a centre-right ideology. It was founded by some members who left the AK Party. He managed to enter the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the 2018 general elections. These are the largest and most influential political parties in Turkey. However, there are many more political parties in Turkey. Each party introduces itself to voters with its different ideological views, policies and goals.
