The greatest events in Malaysian History

1. 31 August 1957 - Malaysia's Independence Day: Independence from British colonial rule.

2. May 13, 1969 - May 13 Events: A series of violent events took place in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, leading to ethnic and religious conflicts. As a result of these events, issues of racism and discrimination have become more prominent in Malaysia.

3. 16 September 1963 - Establishment of the Federation of Malaysia: The Federation of Malaysia was established by the merger of Malaysia, Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo (currently Sabah) and Sarawak. However, in 1965, Singapore separated from Malaysia.

4. July 13, 1985 - Malaysia Airlines Flight 123 Disaster: A Malaysia Airlines plane traveling from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Japan and 520 people lost their lives. This is the deadliest plane crash in history.

5. 18 March 2008 - Electoral Defeat of the Barisan Nasional Party: The Barisan Nasional Party, which was in power for many years in Malaysia, suffered a major defeat in the 2008 general elections and lost its power. As a result of this election, an opposition party came to power for the first time in Malaysia.

6. March 8, 2014 - Disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared on March 8, 2014. 239 people on the plane are still missing and the cause of the incident has not been fully clarified.

7. May 9, 2018 - End of the Barisan Nasional Party's Rule: In the 2018 general elections, opposition parties ended the 61-year rule of the Barisan Nasional Party and a new government was formed. As a result of this election, 92-year-old Mahathir Mohamad became prime minister again and served as the world's oldest head of state.
