Wars in which Nepal participated

Nepal has participated in several wars throughout history. Here are some important wars in which Nepal participated: 1st Anglo-Nepal War (1814-1816): This war took place between England and Nepal. Nepal entered the war after Britain attacked Gorkha (now Nepal) territory. However, Nepal was defeated and the Treaty of Sugauli was eventually signed. With this treaty, Nepal lost some of its lands and came under the protection of England.

2. World War II (1939-1945): Nepal joined the war on the side of Britain because it was under the auspices of the British Raj (British India). Nepal provided troops, transport and logistical support to the British Army. Additionally, some Gurkha troops also fought in the British Army.

3. Korean War (1950-1953): Nepal was among the powers participating in the United Nations' Korean War. Nepal joined the war with Gurkha troops and helped defend South Korea from North Korean attack.

4. Gulf War (1990-1991): Nepal sent troops to the Gulf War in support of coalition forces led by the United States. Nepal sided with coalition forces with the Royal Nepalese Army and served in Saudi Arabia. In addition to these wars, Nepal has also sent troops to other international peace missions. For example, Nepal has served as a United Nations peacekeeper in countries such as Kosovo, Sudan, Haiti and Lebanon.
