Information about Uganda Marriage.

The issue of marriage is very important in Uganda and has traditionally been highly valued in many segments of society. Marriage usually occurs when a man and a woman come together and serves the purposes of starting a family and having children. Marriage customs and traditions may differ among Uganda's different ethnic groups. For example, having more than one spouse (polygamy) is common in some groups, while monogamous marriage is more common in other groups. Traditionally, many young Ugandan people cannot marry without their family's approval. Families often work together to certify couples' marriages by visiting each other and performing a number of traditional ceremonies and rituals. Marriages in Uganda generally take place in the form of religious or civil marriages. While religious marriages are held in churches or mosques according to the beliefs of the people, civil marriages are held in an official ceremony organized by the state. You must be at least 18 years old to get married. However, in some cases, marriage can be made at the age of 16 with the permission of the parents or the court. In recent years, legal regulations have been introduced to combat child marriage. Divorce in Uganda is a legal process that provides marriage couples with the opportunity to resolve their problems. The divorce process usually begins with the court process, and at the end of the process, the couples' marriages officially end. Uganda has a society that attaches great importance to marriage and family unity. However, in recent years, women's rights advocates and non-governmental organizations have made efforts to raise greater awareness on issues such as extramarital affairs, divorce and violence against women. Additionally, health issues such as the fight against HIV/AIDS are also areas where marriage and sexual relationships are discussed.
