Detailed information about Education in Uganda.

Uganda is a country located in East Africa and its education system is run by the government. Education in the country is offered at three levels: Basic Education, Secondary Education and Higher Education. Basic Education: Basic education in Uganda covers children between the ages of 6 and

13. At this stage, called primary school, students are taught courses such as basic literacy, mathematics, science, social studies and art. Basic education is compulsory and free, but access problems may occur in some regions. Secondary Education: Secondary education covers students between the ages of 14 and 18 in Uganda. At this stage, students have the option of attending high school. High school education can be received as general or vocational education. While the general high school program includes various courses such as science, social sciences, arts and languages, vocational education programs aim to provide students with professional skills. Higher Education: In Uganda, higher education institutions consist of universities and technical institutes. While undergraduate and graduate programs are offered in universities, vocational training is provided in technical institutes. In higher education, students can receive education in various disciplines and enter business life after graduation. In Uganda, quality and access to education remain a challenge in rural areas and among poor families. In some regions, the educational infrastructure may be inadequate and there may be a shortage of teachers. Additionally, due to financial difficulties, some families cannot send their children to school. Therefore, the government and international organizations are implementing various projects to improve educational infrastructure and increase access to education. As a result, the education system in Uganda is offered at various levels, from basic education to tertiary education. However, education quality and access still need to be improved due to some problems. The government and international organizations are working to solve these problems.
