What are Iraqi Drinks?

Various beverages are consumed in Iraq. Among them:

1. Tea: Tea is an important beverage for the Iraqi people. It is generally consumed at breakfast and throughout the day. Can be preferred with or without sugar.

2. Coffee: Coffee is also a popular drink in Iraq. It is especially preferred in the afternoon or evening hours. It is usually drunk sweetened or plain.

3. Ayran: Ayran is a beverage widely consumed in Middle Eastern countries. It is obtained by mixing yoghurt, water and salt. It is preferred as a refreshing drink, especially in hot weather.

4. Sherbet: Sherbet is an important part of Iraqi cuisine. Sherbets sweetened with fruit juice or various plant extracts are generally served on special occasions or hosting guests.

5. Carbonated Drinks: Various carbonated drinks are also available in Iraq. Soda, colas, and fruit-flavored sodas are generally popular with teenagers and children.

6. Fermented Beverages: Fermented drinks are also consumed in Iraq. Naturally fermented drinks such as sherbets and apple juice are especially preferred.

7. Water: Water is the most basic beverage in Iraq, as everywhere else. People generally consume water by purifying it or choosing bottled water.
