Wars in which Iraq participated

Iraq has participated in many wars throughout history. Here are some of the important wars in which Iraq participated:

1. Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988): This war started with Iraq's attack on neighboring Iran in 1980. The war continued for eight years and caused millions of deaths, huge economic losses and destruction.

2. Gulf War (1990-1991): After Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, a coalition force was formed under the leadership of the United Nations. This force launched a military operation against Iraq and ensured Iraq's withdrawal from Kuwait.

3. Afghanistan Invasion (2001-present): Iraq supported the US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan. Iraq joined the war against the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan by sending military units.

4. US-Iraq War (2003-2011): This war began with the intervention of a US-led coalition force in Iraq. The invasion, which was carried out to end the rule of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, turned into a long and complex process. During this time, there were terrorist attacks, civil conflicts and resistance movements.

5. Fight against ISIS (2014-present): Iraq started the fight against ISIS in 2014 when it captured Iraqi territory. Along with international coalition forces and local security forces, Iraq conducted operations against ISIS and struggled to retake its territory. This process is still ongoing.
