Wars in which Djibouti participated

Djibouti has participated in various wars since it gained independence in 1977. Here are some important wars in which Djibouti participated:

1. Djibouti-Ethiopia War (1995): This war, which broke out as a result of the border dispute between Ethiopia and Djibouti, lasted about a week. Djibouti resisted Ethiopia's attacks and managed to push Ethiopia back.

2. Djibouti-Eritrea War (1999-2000): Djibouti sided with Ethiopia in this war due to a border dispute with Eritrea. As a result of the war, there was a territorial exchange between Eritrea, Ethiopia and Djibouti.

3. Djibouti-Algeria War (2008): This war, which broke out as a result of the border dispute between Algeria and Djibouti, ended in a short time. Djibouti resisted Algeria's attacks and ensured border security.

4. Djibouti-Yemen War (2015-present): Djibouti sided with the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen's civil war. Djibouti provided logistical support to coalition forces and sent military aid to Yemen. Apart from these wars, Djibouti has also participated in international peacekeeping missions. For example, Djibouti has sent troops to missions such as AMISOM (African Union Mission in Somalia) and MINUSMA (United Nations Financial Mission) in Somalia under the auspices of the United Nations.
