Uruguay is a country located in South America and is not famous for its military power. The country's military force is organized under the name of the Uruguayan Armed Forces (Fuerzas Armadas del Uruguay). The Uruguayan Armed Forces have three main branches: the Land Forces (Ejército Nacional), the Navy (Armada Nacional) and the Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya). These forces are responsible for ensuring the internal and external security of the country in order to fulfill their defense and security duties. Uruguay's military structure is based on a conscription system. In the country, male citizens are called to military service at the age of 18 and receive training for a certain period of time.
