The greatest events in Hungarian History

Some of the biggest events in Hungarian history include:

1. Liberation of Hungary (895-896): Hungary settled in Central Europe and controlled a region including Austria, Slovakia, Romania and Serbia.

2. Battle of Mohács (1526): War between the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary. In this war, the Kingdom of Hungary was defeated and part of the country was conquered by the Ottoman Empire.

3. Siege of Buda (1686): The siege carried out by the Ottoman Empire to capture Budapest, the capital of Hungary. As a result of the siege, Budapest was taken back from the Ottomans and Lajos V (Louis) was crowned.

4. Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence (1848-1849): Hungary's struggle for independence against the Austrian Empire. This revolution, which emerged with demands for freedom, equality and fraternity, was eventually suppressed by Austria.

5. Establishment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867): An agreement was signed between Hungary and Austria by the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I and the Austro-Hungarian Empire was established. Hungary gained greater autonomy from Austria.

6. World War I (1914-1918): Hungary entered the war as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the end of the war, the empire collapsed and Hungary became an independent state.

7.II. World War (1939-1945): Hungary joined the war under Nazi Germany. However, at the end of the war, Hungary was occupied by the Soviet Union and a communist government was established.

8. Hungarian Revolution (1956): Revolution in Soviet-controlled Hungary. The revolution was suppressed by the Soviet Union and Hungary came under a communist regime again.

9. Democratic Transformation (1989): As a result of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Hungary transitioned from a communist regime to a democratic system of government.

10. EU membership (2004): Hungary became a member of the European Union and became a part of Europe.
