Wars in which Hungary participated

Hungary has participated in many wars throughout its history. Here are the important wars in which Hungary participated:

1. Battle of Mohács (1526): Hungary faced the Ottoman Empire and the Ottomans were victorious in this battle. As a result of this war, Hungary came under the rule of the Ottoman Empire.

2. Austro-Hungarian Empire Period (1867-1918): During this period, Hungary united with Austria to form the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This empire existed until World War I.

3. World War I (1914-1918): Hungary participated in World War I as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the end of the war, the empire collapsed and Hungary declared its independence.

4.II. World War (1939-1945): Hungary, World War II. It participated in World War II as part of the Axis Powers. However, towards the end of the war, Hungary was occupied as a result of the attack of the Soviet Union and a communist regime was established at the end of the war.

5. Hungarian Revolution (1956): Hungary experienced an uprising against the Soviet Union, starting with demands for independence. However, thousands of people lost their lives as a result of the revolution that was suppressed by the Soviet Union.

6. Cold War Period (1947-1991): Hungary was under the influence of the Soviet Union during the Cold War and became a member of the Warsaw Pact. However, in 1989, the communist regime ended and Hungary transitioned to a democratic form of government.
