The greatest events in Namibian History

1. The German Empire's colonization of Namibia (1884-1915): Germany colonized Namibia in 1884 and named the region German Southwest Africa. The German colonial administration imposed cruelty and slavery on the indigenous people.

2. Namibian War of Independence (1966-1990): Namibia was under the control of the Republic of South Africa. In 1966, the Namibian Independence Movement (SWAPO) began the armed struggle for independence. The war of independence ended with Namibia gaining independence in 1990.

3. Katima Mulilo Incident (1999): On 2 May 1999, clashes broke out between SWAPO supporters and Namibia Party for Democratic Change (DTA) supporters in the Katima Mulilo region of Namibia. As a result of the events, 11 people died and many were injured.

4. Himba People Protests (2007): Himba people protested the policies implemented by the Namibian government to protect natural resources in the areas where the Ovahimba community lives. The Himba people demanded respect for their land and way of life.

5. Drought Crisis in Namibia (2019-2020): Namibia faced a major drought in 2019. This drought negatively affected agriculture throughout the country, reduced water resources and made it difficult for local people to make a living. The government took urgent measures to combat the drought crisis.

6. COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-present): Namibia was affected by the COVID-19 epidemic that spread worldwide in 2020. The government took strict measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic, closing its borders and imposing quarantine measures. The epidemic has put great pressure on the healthcare system across the country.
