Wars in which Yemen participated

Yemen has participated in several wars in recent years. Here are some wars in which Yemen participated:

1. Yemen Civil War (2015-present): This civil war started in 2014 with conflicts between the Shiite rebel group called Houthis and the Yemeni government. The Houthis tried to overthrow the government by capturing Sana'a, the capital of Yemen. Later, a coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia intervened in support of the Yemeni government against the Houthis. This civil war is still ongoing and has caused a major humanitarian crisis.

2. Fighting against AQAP (Al Qaeda in Yemen) before the Yemen Civil War (2002-present): Al Qaeda in Yemen (AQAP) is a terrorist organization operating in Yemen. This organization entered into conflict with the United States after the September 11 attacks and also entered into conflict with the Yemeni government. Many countries, especially the United States, have provided military and intelligence support to Yemen to combat Al Qaeda.

3. Gulf War (1990-1991): In the Gulf War that broke out after Iraq invaded Kuwait, Yemen supported the Baghdad administration and maintained diplomatic relations with Iraq. Although Yemen did not send troops to the Gulf War, it was affected by the consequences of the war. In addition to these wars, Yemen has also been the scene of various internal conflicts and separatist movements in its history. It can be said that the country is going through a period in which it struggles with civil wars and conflicts.
