What are Yemeni Drinks?

Yemen has many varieties of traditional and popular drinks. Here are some typical drinks of Yemen:

1. Coffee (Qahwa): Yemeni Coffee is famous worldwide. Coffee is grown in Yemen and is made by grinding coffee beans after roasting. Coffee is often served with qishr, a type of flavored tea made from fresh green leaves.

2. Shai (Tea): Tea is also very popular in Yemen. Tea is usually consumed hot and sweetened. Yemeni tea is made from the Hibiscus flower, commonly known as red tea.

3. Aseer (Fruit Juice): Fruit juices made from fresh fruits are also very common in Yemen. Fruit juices such as mango, pomegranate and orange juice are especially preferred.

4. Laban (Ayran): Laban is a drink made by mixing yoghurt and water. It is preferred in Yemen to cool down, especially in hot weather.

5. Şebaab (Turkish: Fresh Date Juice): This drink is made with the juice of fresh date fruits. Shebaab is a preferred drink in Yemen, especially at iftar meal during Ramadan.

6. Wine: Grape wine is traditionally produced in Yemen. However, since Yemen is generally under the influence of Islam, alcohol consumption is limited. Yemen also has sodas and candies imported from other countries. However, traditional Yemeni beverages are generally more popular and widespread.
