Wars in which Greece participated

Greece has participated in many wars throughout history. Here are some important wars in which Greece participated:

1. Greek War of Independence (1821-1832): Greece fought a war of independence against the Ottoman Empire. As a result of this war, Greece was established as an independent state.

2. Balkan Wars (1912-1913): A series of wars in which Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro came together to fight against the Ottoman Empire. Greece expanded its territory in these wars.

3. World War I (1914-1918): Greece remained neutral at the beginning of the war. However, in 1917, it joined the Allied Powers and became involved in the war. Greece fought to take back Macedonia and Izmir.

4.II. World War (1939-1945): Greece entered World War II with the attack of Italy in 1940. He participated in World War II. Greece was occupied by Germany's attack. However, the Greek resistance achieved victory at the end of the war.

5. Korean War (1950-1953): Greece participated in the Korean War by joining the United Nations Force. Greek soldiers protected South Korea from attacks on North Korea.

6. Cyprus Operation (1974): Greece carried out the Cyprus Operation upon the request of Cyprus to be annexed to Greece. As a result of this operation, the island of Cyprus was divided and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was declared.
