What are the types of companies in Bangladesh?

There are different types of companies in Bangladesh. The most common types of companies according to the Enterprise Act are:

1. Individual Company: It is a type of company operated by only one person and managed by its owner. In such companies, the owner makes all decisions and bears all responsibility.

2. Partnership: It is a business partnership established between at least two people. Profit share and responsibilities are shared among the partners. A partnership can be formed in different forms, such as general partnership and limited partnership.

3. Limited Company: It is a type of company established by at least two people and in which liability is limited due to limited shares. In such companies, shareholders are responsible for the capital they invest and are limitedly affected by the company's debts.

4. Public Company: It is a type of company in which the shares are publicly traded and traded publicly. Such companies have the authority to increase capital and distribute profits to their investors through shares.

5. Cooperative: It is a type of business in which members work jointly and share the profits jointly. Cooperatives can operate in different areas such as agriculture, consumer and housing.

6. Branch: It is an office or branch opened by a foreign company to operate in Bangladesh. The branch is established to carry out the activities of the parent company, but it is not considered a separate legal entity. These are just examples of some types of companies and more variety can be found. Each type of company can have different advantages and legal obligations, so it is important to choose the appropriate one when forming a company.
