How has Romanian Fashion developed?

The Romanian fashion industry has been affected and developed under different influences at different periods throughout history. Today's fashion trends are shaped by the combination of both local cultural heritage and international fashion trends. During this period, concepts such as fashion design and branding had almost completely disappeared. However, after the fall of communism in 1989, the Romanian fashion industry began to revive. New fashion designers and brands have emerged and become known on the international fashion scene. Romania supports and promotes local designers and brands by organizing fashion weeks and events. Today, the Romanian fashion industry follows international fashion trends with designs that reflect local culture and crafts. Bucharest, the capital of Romania, is considered the center of the fashion industry and hosts many fashion brands and designers. Additionally, Romania attracts attention with its many educational institutions and programs on fashion education and fashion design.
