Norway's friend and foe countries

Norway generally has friendly relations with other countries. Norway is a member of NATO and although it is not a member of the European Union (EU), it has signed various agreements with the EU. Norway considers Sweden as one of its closest friends. There are many partnerships between the two countries and they support each other in economic, cultural and military fields. Norway also has good relations with Denmark and has made various agreements to strengthen bilateral relations. They also established close relations with Finland. Other friendly countries of Norway include Iceland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA). They have strong commercial and political relations with these countries and support each other. Although there is no specific hostility towards the countries that Norway is hostile to, it has had some disagreements with some countries. For example, there have been disputes between Russia and Norway over oil and gas resources in the Barents Sea. Additionally, Norway has experienced some problems at the border with Sweden. As a result, Norway generally cooperates with countries with which it has friendly relations. Countries with hostility are limited in number and are generally countries with which there is disagreement on certain issues.
