Norway is a country located in Northern Europe and a member of NATO. Norway's military force operates under the name Norwegian Armed Forces. The Norwegian Armed Forces include three separate corps: the Norwegian Land Forces, the Norwegian Navy and the Norwegian Air Force. Each corps has its own specific capabilities and areas of responsibility. The Norwegian Land Forces is the corps that conducts Norway's land operations. It consists of approximately 25,000 soldiers and operates mainly on Norwegian territory. It consists of approximately 6,000 soldiers and protects Norway's airspace. The Norwegian Air Force has a variety of aircraft such as F-35 fighter jets, F-16 fighter jets, C-130 transport aircraft and P-3 anti-submarine aircraft. The Norwegian Armed Forces conduct training, exercises, international missions and cooperation activities for defense purposes. As a member of NATO, Norway also contributes to the defense of the alliance. In addition, Norway continues its modernization and capability enhancement efforts by allocating significant resources to the Norwegian Armed Forces.
