What is the legal system in Tanzania?

Tanzania adopts a mixed legal system. It brings together elements of the English legal system, Islamic law and customary law. The judicial system in Tanzania is managed by the Courts and the Ministry of Justice. The highest court is the Constitutional Court of Tanzania and other courts include the supreme court, high court, district courts and district courts. The Tanzanian legal system is influenced by English law, Islamic law and traditional legal systems. This mixed structure reflects the multicultural and multilingual structure of Tanzania.
