Wars in which Colombia participated

Colombia is a country that has participated in many wars in its history. Here are some important wars in which Colombia participated:

1. Colombian War of Independence (1810-1824): Colombia was a Spanish colony in South America called the Presidency of Colombia. The independence movements that started in 1810 resulted in Colombia's independence from Spain in 1824.

2. Spanish-Colombian War (1863-1865): Colombia was a country under the influence of Spain at that time. However, as a result of a series of disputes between Spain and Colombia in 1863, war broke out. By winning the war, Colombia was completely free from Spanish influence.

3. Colombia-Peru War (1932-1933): A war broke out between Colombia and Peru as a result of a dispute on the borders of the two countries. However, after a short conflict, a peace agreement was signed between the two countries.

4. Colombia-ELN and FARC Rebellions (1960-present): Colombia has been fighting the Marxist guerrilla organizations the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) since the 1960s. These conflicts caused Colombia to experience a period of civil war and caused thousands of people to lose their lives. Although a peace agreement was signed between the FARC and the government in 2016, conflicts with the ELN continue.
