What is the Syrian form of government?

Syria is governed by the single-party regime of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party (ASBP). ASBP has been the ruling party of Syria since 1970. The Syrian Constitution envisages a state structure based on socialism, Arab nationalism and Baath ideology. However, the civil war that started in Syria in 2011 and the processes that followed have changed the way the country is governed. Today, Syria is governed under authoritarian rule by the Assad family.
