What is the Ukrainian Legal system like?

The Ukrainian legal system is a mixed legal system that includes regulations in many areas such as constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, administrative law and commercial law. Ukraine has been influenced by different legal systems, mainly Roman law and Soviet law. Constitutional law of Ukraine is regulated by the 1996 Constitution. While special provisions contain the definition and penalties of specific crimes, general provisions regulate the general principles regarding the application of penalties. Civil law regulates the rights and responsibilities of individuals. Issues such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, property regime are within the scope of civil law. Civil law in Ukraine is regulated by the Civil Code and other relevant laws. Administrative law regulates the administrative procedures and powers of the state. Administrative law in Ukraine is regulated to protect the rights of citizens and to ensure the effective and fair provision of public services. Commercial law regulates commercial relations. Commercial law in Ukraine includes issues such as conducting commercial transactions, establishing and operating commercial companies, and drafting commercial contracts. The legal system in Ukraine has an independent judicial system. Judicial bodies are responsible for ensuring justice independently and impartially. The judicial system consists of appellate courts, district courts and local courts. The Ukrainian legal system has a constantly changing structure. Political, social and economic changes in the country are also reflected in the legal system. Therefore, the Ukrainian legal system is constantly updated and changing.
