Wars in which Estonia participated

Estonia has participated in many wars throughout history. Here are some:

1. Estonian War of Independence (1918-1920): Estonia declared independence with the collapse of the Russian Empire after World War I. However, Soviet Russia and Germany occupied Estonia. Estonia gained its independence by resisting these invaders.

2.II. World War (1939-1945): Estonia, World War II. It was involved in the conflicts between Germany and the Soviet Union during World War II. In 1940, the Soviet Union occupied Estonia and Estonia was annexed to the Soviet Union. However, in 1941, Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union and recaptured Estonia. In 1944, the Soviet Union invaded Estonia again and Estonia became a part of the Soviet Union.

3. Cold War (1947-1991): Estonia remained part of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. However, Estonia, like the other Baltic states of Latvia and Lithuania, led independence movements against the Soviet Union. These independence movements resulted in Estonia gaining independence in 1991.

4. Yugoslavian Wars (1991-2001): Estonia served as a peacekeeper within NATO and the United Nations during the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Estonia joined NATO in 1995 and became a member of the European Union in 2004.

5. Afghanistan War (2001-present): Estonia sent troops to Afghanistan to support the US-led coalition forces. Estonia has been deploying its military units to support peace in Afghanistan since 2001.
