Vietnam wars

Vietnam has participated in several wars throughout its history. Here are some important wars in which Vietnam participated:

1. First Indochina War (1946-1954): It was a war between the French Empire and the Viet Minh. This war is part of Vietnam's struggle for independence and resulted in Vietnam fighting against French colonial rule. The war ended with the Battle of Dien Bien Phu and the French were forced to withdraw from Vietnam.

2. Vietnam War (1955-1975): It is the most well-known war of Vietnam. It is about the unification and independence struggle between US-backed South Vietnam and North Vietnam. This war began after the Geneva Accords, which led to the division of Vietnam between north and south. The war largely took place as a guerrilla war and eventually ended with the victory of North Vietnam.

3. Cambodia-Vietnam War (1977-1989): The Khmer Rouge regime, which seized power in Cambodia, attacked Vietnam and a war broke out between the two countries. Vietnam invaded Cambodia and overthrew the Khmer Rouge regime. Although the war ended in 1979, Vietnam's occupation of Cambodia continued until 1989.

4. Indochina War (1979): It was a war between Vietnam and China. China attacked Vietnam in response to Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia. The war ended with short clashes. These wars represent important turning points in Vietnam's history and relate to the country's struggle for independence, unification and defense.
