Malawi Political parties

There are many political parties in Malawi. Here are some important political parties:

1. Malawi Congress Party (MCP): Malawi's oldest and largest political party, MCP was founded in 1944. Its president is Lazarus Chakwera. The party finds support mainly in the central and northern regions.

2. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP): Founded in 2005, DPP was founded by former president Bingu wa Mutharika. The party finds support especially in the southern regions.
