Puerto Rico is an island in the Caribbean and an autonomous region of the United States. Therefore, Puerto Rico's religious makeup is diverse. The majority of Puerto Rico's population belongs to the Christian religion, with Catholics being the majority. Catholicism spread in Puerto Rico as a result of Spanish colonization.
