What are Bahraini Drinks?

Bahrain has a variety of beverages. Among them:

1. Coffee: Coffee is very popular in Bahrain. Generally, coffee prepared with freshly ground coffee beans is preferred. Traditionally, coffee is made by boiling the coffee powder obtained by grinding coffee beans with water.

2. Tea: Tea is also a widely consumed beverage in Bahrain. Black tea is generally preferred and is usually drunk hot. Especially spicy teas are also popular.

3. Sherbet: Sherbet, one of the traditional drinks of Bahrain cuisine, is a cold drink flavored with fresh fruit juice or various spices. There are sherbet varieties prepared with lemon, mint or rose water.

4. Ayran: Ayran, a drink made by mixing fermented yoghurt and water, is a drink frequently consumed in Bahrain. It is especially preferred with meals.

5. Fruit Juices: Juices made from fresh fruits are also very popular in Bahrain. Fruit juices prepared with fruits such as pomegranate, mango, watermelon and pineapple are preferred to cool down in hot weather.

6. Alcoholic Beverages: Consumption of alcoholic beverages in Bahrain is legally limited and sold only in certain places. For this reason, the alcoholic beverage preferences of tourists and locals are limited to the options offered in restaurants or hotels. Beverages such as beer, wine and liquor are generally preferred.
