Kiribati Political parties

Political parties are very limited in Kiribati. The country's political system is one in which independent candidates are elected based on the regional and personal interests of the representatives. However, there are also some parties. Here are some of the political parties that exist in Kiribati:

1. Boutokaan Te Koaua Party (BTKP): This party is known as the largest party in Kiribati. It was founded in 1998 and is supported by ethnic Gilbertese groups. It has performed strongly in many elections.

2. Maurin Kiribati Party (MKP): MKP is a party founded in 2003 and is especially popular in the outer regions of Kiribati. The party works on protecting the interests of local people and development.

3. Kiribati First Party (KFP): KFP is a party founded in 2015. The party defends Kiribati's national interests and sovereignty. He also works on local economic development and social services.

4. Tobwaan Kiribati Party (TKP): TKP is a party founded in 2005. The party aims to preserve Kiribati's local customs and traditions. He also works on social justice and economic development issues.
