What is the legal system in Cameroon?

Cameroon has adopted a mixture of the French legal system and the English legal system. The country's legal system is based on the French legal tradition, as it was a French colony before gaining independence in 1960. However, since Cameroon also has regions of British origin, the effects of British law are also seen. The law in force in Cameroon consists of the constitution, statutes, international agreements, court decisions and customary law rules.
